Auction at shabby Woodcliff yields low prices for property investors

Less than a mile from a cluster of foreclosed condominiums, nearly two-dozen speculators gathered at the First Community Bank in Whitehall for a chance to pick up some real estate on the cheap.

The April 8 auction of 44 units at the rundown Woodcliff complex attracted a mix of large and small investors, but only a handful left with property to add to their portfolios.
